This site does not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or marketing cookies. Nothing you do while reading these pages is profiled or sold.

The only information collected is what you deliberately type into the consult request form and submit. Those submissions are delivered to MJ Valentine through Netlify Forms and are not shared with anyone else.

Two third parties do receive a request when a page loads: Google Fonts serves the typefaces, and OpenStreetMap serves the map on the office page. Both may log an IP address as part of serving that request.

The consult request form and the practice email address are for scheduling. The form is transmitted over an encrypted connection, but neither is a HIPAA-secured messaging system, and both should be treated with the same caution as ordinary email.

Please do not include detailed trauma history, diagnoses, medication lists, or anything else you would not want sitting in a standard inbox. All of it is better covered by phone or in session, where it can be documented properly.

Submitting the form does not create a therapist–client relationship. That begins only when we have both agreed to work together and the intake paperwork is complete.

Once you become a client, your clinical records are protected under HIPAA and Washington State law, and are governed by the Notice of Privacy Practices you receive and sign at intake. That notice — not this page — is the controlling document for your health information.

Records are disclosed only with your written authorization, or where law requires it: imminent risk of serious harm to yourself or an identifiable other, suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or a valid court order.

Everything on this site is general education about trauma and EMDR. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for care from a qualified provider who knows your situation.
